Data Protection Notice  

Your participation in the FRANCIS project and your data protection consents are voluntary. You can withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future by sending an email to the project’s  data managers at data@francis-project.eu. If you deny or withdraw your consents, you will not be able to participate in the FRANCIS project (any longer).  

You can find details regarding the processing of your personal data within the FRANCIS project in the section “ethics and data”, Data Protection Information, on our Challenge Website.  

Consent to data processing 

By opening an account on the Challenge website, you declare that you agree to the following statements: 

• I accept the use of my data for FRANCIS and its transfer to Turkey: I hereby consent that Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung  e.V., Hansastraße 27c, 80686 München, Germany and the other project partners of the  FRANCIS consortium may use my data for the scientific research purposes of the FRANCIS project, i.e. the development of frugal innovations by citizens. My data includes (i) my contact details and profile on the Challenge website and any information that I submit to the platform during the project (input, feedback, ideas). My data may be shared among the project partners for the project purpose. One of the project partners is established in Turkey, a country for which the EU Commission  has not decided that it ensures an adequate level of data protection. I hereby also agree that my data may be transferred to Turkey, and I expressly accept hereby the risks described in the Data Protection Information. Details of the data processing are set out in the Data Protection Information.  
• I accept audio and video recordings upon giving consent: I agree that in case of interactions with me these interactions may be recorded by video and/or audio by the project partner. I will be informed about the recording (if any) at the start of the interaction. The recording may be used to document the content in text format  (transcription). The recording will be deleted after the transcription. 
• I consent to session observations: I consent to facilitators observing sessions that I participate in for evaluation purposes,  downloading attendance data and using the supplied contact details to contact me about participation in a follow-up survey 
• I accept the publication of statements with my real name upon giving consent:  I agree that my statements from interactions may be shared among the project partners and may also be published with my real name. Compromising statements will be removed before the publication. I will be informed about the planned publication (if any) beforehand and will  receive a summary of my statements with the possibility to request changes or decline publication. 
• I accept the use for my data for further scientific research purposes: I agree that the project partners may store and use my pseudonymised data for other future scientific research purposes (like statistical analyses). Pseudonymised data does not reveal the identity of a person.
